Ms. Rotella

Nora Rotella is a founding partner of Rotella & Hernandez. Ms. Rotella specifically focuses her practice on matters of Civil Law—particularly family and matrimonial law, criminal law, foreclosure defense, contract disputes, landlord tenant matters, evictions, and real estate law.

Ms. Rotella graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2007. In 2011, she graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law with her Juris Doctor degree. During her time at St. Thomas, Ms. Rotella became a member of the Cuban Bar Association.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Rotella worked as a closing agent for Security and Guaranty Title Company, examining closing documents, mortgages, notes, and conducting closings for residential and commercial properties. Following her graduation, Ms. Rotella became an associate attorney at a prominent South Florida law firm where she handled numerous cases in the previously mentioned practice areas. She has represented clients in family law, criminal law, foreclosure defense as well as various civil law matters throughout Florida.

Ms. Rotella is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is a native of South Florida and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Ms. Hernandez

Ms. Hernandez’s practice areas are focused on Immigration and Nationality Law, Criminal Law, and Family Law.

Ms. Hernandez graduated Cum Laude from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2003. In 2011, she graduated Cum Laude from St. Thomas University School of Law with her Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Intercultural Human Rights. During her time at St. Thomas, Ms. Hernandez competed as a member of the school’s International Moot Court Team and was a charter member of the Rosemary Barkett Appellate Inn of Court.

Additionally, Ms. Hernandez was the founding president of Law Students for Human Rights where she spearheaded several events to raise awareness in the community of various global human rights violations. Ms. Hernandez also received various awards during her tenure at St. Thomas including inclusion on the Dean’s List for three semesters and the book award (highest grade) in Supreme Court Advocacy. During her final semester at St. Thomas, Ms. Hernandez interned for the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office Juvenile Division.

Since graduating from law school, Ms. Hernandez has dedicated her career to the practice of immigration and nationality law, criminal law, and family law. She has represented clients in removal proceedings in Immigration Court and on family-based petitions as well as applications for residency, asylum, and citizenship before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”). Ms. Hernandez’s knowledge of the US immigration process is enhanced by her own firsthand experience with immigrating to the United States. She immigrated from Colombia in 1983 and officially became a US citizen in 1995. Thanks to her personal immigration experiences, Ms. Hernandez has cultivated a true appreciation and compassion for others seeking entry and citizenship in this country. Ms. Hernandez understands the complexities associated with immigration procedures, and applies her knowledge and background to effectively assist clients in building a life in the USA.

Ms. Hernandez is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
